It seems people have been requesting this feature for years and I can't imagine it's that difficult to implement. So if ubuntu claims to be linux for human beings, why is there still no 'undo' function? I'm just wondering...

Most people requested an undo button to restore from Trash. That was implemented in 2.22 or 2.24, I forget which.

Opensolaris has timeslider http://blogs.sun.com/erwann/entry/zfs_on_the_desktop_zfs, but it is unavailable to linux as it requires zfs. Maybe we'll see it when btrfs gets ready.

We've closed the Idea Pool portion of our forums in favor of the official Ubuntu Brainstorm site.

You can discuss this idea further here:
Idea #792: CTRL+Z on desktop and Nautilus (http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ideatorrent/idea/792)
