I personally like that one ecofont, and Droid Sans.

Some others I like from 1001Fonts are the VTKS series. Grungy as all get-out. They're a lot of fun.

For printing out documents or for using in the GUI?

I use Liberation Sans for my GUI and Liberation Serif for my documents.

I think this comic is somewhat unfair-- sure, the "papyrus" font is hard to read, but I still like the look of it.

As for fonts to actually use, I tend to use a sans serif font for my GUI, and a serif font for my documents. FreeSans and FreeSerif are both excellent. Also, I use a fixed-width font for math homework and for programming. Monospace is good, so is FreeMono.
