System freezes when starting from USB stick (EEE 1000)

I recently decided to try out Ubuntu Netbook Remix on my EEE 1000. Everything works fine until i try to boot from the USB stick with UNR on it. I get the Ubuntu logo and the list of startup choices. When I choose to start UNR from the USB stick ("Try Ubuntu... without any change to your computer") everything stops. I have tried to wait for several minutes, but nothing happens.

I have downloaded the image file three times, but still no difference. What could be wrong?

Hi Ive got same problem here, but with an acer aspire one...

Seems like if the keyboard freezes up... I can't do anything, not even to modify boot strings..
