Glad you like Futurelooks then :)

I'm just making sure the new gtk is comfortable to use over the next few days (e.g there's no annoying little bugs), then I'll release it. Obviously it's a very minor change, but I think it adds a bit more polish to the overall look.

Awesome font man. How can I get it? And what FF theme is this?

I think a link for the font is somewhere in the May Screenshot thread. It is ScalaSans-Caps.

The firefox theme is default, just really hacked up :P I cannot take credit for it either, as Giant Speck inspired it when I caught his Macchiato theme on gnome-look, I just made it my own, heh.

That isn't always the case, especially with Intel graphics cards. I have an Intel 945GM and while Aero works flawlessly, Compiz Blur doesn't even work at all. It freaks out, blacks out my windows and vertically inverts my display.

The proprietary NVIDIA drivers are some of the only drivers I know of that work well with the blur effect.

When designing FutureLooks, I wish I could design it with blurring in mind, but am forced to keep window decorations at 90% and above, in the interests of most people who want to use the theme.

Thanks, Giant Speck. But I haven't found what I need. There are no folders in /home/username/.icons. I have looked through all the folders in /usr/share/icons/ and none of them have the battery icon that's currently being used, so I can't tell where it's coming from, and even more irritating, I can't seem to find the icon that it uses in the normal human theme.

I was thinking that if I can find the icon(s) it's using currently and the ones I want it to be, I would just replace it! But it's not turning out to be that simple. Unless I'm missing something...?

Am I the only one who hates the battery icon?!

What icon set are you using? If it's gnome-colors, it doesn't have battery icons, as it inherits them from gnome-icon-theme. If you prefer the ones from Human, you can copy them from the /usr/share/icons/Human folder into the same folders of the set you're currently using.

Moved to a darker theme this month. It's Crono Dark Blue:

The font, as others will know, is Scala Sans Caps. Icons are Mashup Maxo Edition with some Buuf icons in there as well.

I think his point is that you're not really that minimalistic. AWN, a rather fat and glossy theme, big ol' panel up top, the square conky, etc. All that's really "simple" is that you don't have any desktop icons.

It's not a knock on you, you like your desk and that's what's important. It just isn't what most of us would describe as such. ;)

You're right, I have seen much simpler desktops. I probably should have used a different word. To be honest, I could do without the glowing edges around the windows, but I have yet to find a thin glossy window border that I like.

Sure thing. It takes advantage of some undocumented features (read bugs) so that it takes on the color of your window and even the gradient if you have one. The buttons don't look very good on light colored windows, though. So caveat emptor.

Nice! The gnome title made me doubt it would work well in KDE, but no such problems :D
I added an emerald theme too

Well, it's actually included in the new Xubuntu release so I was fairly certain it's cross platform- good to hear it works for sure on KDE. It looks great in your setup, too!

Here's mine for June. I've got it almost perfect.

"Almost perfect"? Surely, there's no such thing! That's why this thread exists :KS

Or in my case, because that's the only place where the clock shows up. ;)

That, my friends, is how you get conky to play nice with maximized windows. :KS

That looks pretty cool, actually, and I'd love to have my conky info up when I've got the windows maximised (which I almost always do because my screen is only 8.9"!!! How did you do that?

My computer is creepy, the eyes turn red and watch me when I try to lay down to sleep(must be the side angle view of the screen, I hope!)

you should use the Desktop Art (http://www.nedrebo.org/code/rhythmbox/desktop_art) plugin for rhythmbox instead of screenlets! :)
Thanks for the link.
I got Cover Art working,
In /.screenlets/NowPlaying/Players/Rythmbox.py
change

return os.environ['HOME']+"/.gnome2/rhythmbox/covers/"+self.get_artist()+\
to

return os.environ['HOME']+"/.cache/rhythmbox/covers/"+self.get_artist()+\

I lucked out, actually. The panel I use on the upper-right there is tint2, which doesn't let windows maximize over it (obviously, since it's a panel). I tweaked the settings on both so the two of them would all fit in the same horizontal space. Since the windows can't cover tint, they can't cover conky.

If you're using GNOME and have the standard panel down below, I'm honestly not sure how it would be done. But if you're a flux/openbox user (or Compiz, like me), then it's pretty simple stuff.
