Do you use the default, download one or make one?
If you have any links to good tutorials for creating wallpapers please post them!

Depends on the version. I liked the Hardy and Jaunty wallpapers, but hated the Intrepid wall.

I enjoy taking photos, which means that I usually end up setting my favourite as the wallpaper

This is mine at the moment (taken from our front door)

I usually download Wallpapers. The ones at zixpk.com are really nice.

But I made some nice photos in Sweden some time ago and I use them as Wallpaper too.

These are the best photos i've taken, not very wallpaper-ish though, pictures of Saltaire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltaire)

I usually download mine from 4scrape. Occasionally I'll make my own though.

I go to google image search and search for an image at the desired resolution. For example, I recently wanted a picture of the moon as the wallpaper on my laptop:

Moon 1280X800

I'll run through a bunch of images, pick one that I like and then modify it a bit with Gimp...change colors, saturation, etc. and then doctor the theme to match with it.

To get wallpapers at high resolution, for any resolution, go to: http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/downloads/date/any/

Enjoy.

Usually D/L mine from InterfaceLift.com and am extremely happy with them.

Checking out zixpk.com now, btw. Interesting stuff. That 4scrape one, what's it's TLD? .com didn't get me anything.

I turned the default Ubuntu one blue.

I have also made a few buy waving around coloured leds in front of a camera in a dark room with a 15 second exposure.

Note to anyone using 4scrape - By default, it is NSFW! There are filters in place and generally do a good job, but please remember, it is a collection of the wallpapers posted on /w/ and /wg/, which are 4chan NSFW boards (well, they're supposed to be safe for work but they never are). Otherwise, it's a great site. It just found 19,407 images at 1680x1050 alone!

Wow. Nice view!

I normally get mine from digitalblasphemy or interfacelift.
