I walk into Barns and Nobles and go to the Linux section all they have is, Fedora Unleashed, Fedora Bible, Fedora for Dummies, Runing REL, and so on. Not that I have problems with RH or Fedora Core, thats what I used before Ubuntu, but I would like to see Books on other distrobutions, so anyways. Does anyone know if or when an Ubuntu or even a Debian based book will be released, or can recomend some?

Those books are for people who are thrown in the Linux stream without a lifejacket. They run it for their business.

Since you have jumped in yourself, you probably have more initiative than the audiance of these books. There are many books about linux in generial that will teach you more than a distro-specific book.

I like Linux From Scratch

Let me think of some others...

I was just going to start a new thread on this... :D

I haven't found any Debian or Ubuntu specific books, but I do have three that are very very good Linux general books:

1. Moving To Linux by Marcel Gagne.
2. Running Linux, Fourth Edition by O'reilly Press
3. Linux in a Nutshell by O'reilly Press.

These are three great books and I am actually reading them all like a tom clancy novel. :o

Running Linux by O'Reilly is AMAZING, and it's not distro specific at all. They do talk about the big ones but don't dwell on any one distro more.

As far as the development philosophy (not just for Linux, but all Open Source) I reccommend Embracing Insanity. Very good book.

Cool!

Just checked the link above (Debian GNU/Linux 3.X Bible).
Noticed it's co-written by one of the Ubuntu developers.
I'll have to check it out when it's released.
