I'm trying to install Ubuntu 9.04 desktop from CD and I keep getting an I/O error when copying files - at exactly 32 percent. I'm installing to the entire drive.
Installation Failed
The Installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk
Error 5 Input/Output error
I tried installing another CD ROM drive and switching out the CD ROM cable.
I tried downloading and reburning at a slower speed to the CD as well.
The CD ROM is IDE and the HDD is SCSI, but I don't think that should matter.
I checked the integrity of the disc - no errors found.
SCSI(0,0,0) (sda)
The following partitions are going to be formatted:
P#1 of SCSI3(0,0,0) (sda) as ext3
P#5 of SCSI3(0,0,0) (sda) as swap
Do these look like the correct settings?
