How did you resolve your problem? If you posted how you resolved it, then others could benefit from your knowledge, and sharing is what Ubuntu (and GNU/Linux) is all about.

True. I just felt a bit silly when I post then solve it 10 minutes later.

Shares work a different way in Ubuntu and XP in Ubutnu the network connection stays open then is closed right away (at least for the cli command), but with XP it will keep the share open as long as you're logged in. I was testing the permissions of two shares. I could get in to one but if I tried logging in to the other afterword I'd get an error. There is prolly a spot for connections per IP, but since it will only be one person to the computer it will be better like this.
