Hello everyone.
I want to upgrade my ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 . If i use
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, will it upgrade to 8.10 only or 9.04.
I do not want to go for 9.04 as my hardware do not support that.
If this will not work. Please tell me if it is possible in some other way.

If you get your hands on an Intrepid Ibex installation CD, then you might be able to upgrade to it by adding it to the sources you use, but I'm not sure if it works.

Go to system > administration > update manager. It should say upgrade to 8.10 if you are using 8.04. You can also use a CD to upgrade to 8.10 but make sure that you download the alternate CD.
