ubuntu 9.04 runs very slow on hp dv5237

hey,

i upgraded ubuntu from 8.10 to 9.04 and now it's very slow. when i drag any window on the desktop i can see the window move frame by frame. all applications (i.e. firefox, transmission, etc) are not very responsive as well. i have a hp pavillon dv5237, full spec here:

i think maybe video driver or some driver is not functioning correctly, which drags the whole system down with it.

anybody run into this issue too?

It could well be the Intel video driver - there's a how to dealing with it here
