trouble with pre-installing Ubuntu on systems

How to force a "first time run configuration" on the next boot? I am going to offer Ubuntu pre-installed, and I need to be able to configure things and do the updates before I ship the computer, then the end-user needs to be prompted to create username and password on first boot.

I searched keywords like "first time boot configuration" and "deploying Ubuntu", etc and haven't found anything that helps with this. Can someone please help me with this?
