View Full Version : [ubuntu] Different Workspace Wallpapers

Using ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). I want to use different wallpapers for each of my workspaces. i found this by way of google:

this forum thread is from back in '07, so im sure it's pretty outdated.

This seems to WORK, it's not the quickest by far, and may not work exactly how you like it, but it will change the backgrounds when you change workspaces.

If you use the compiz wallpaper plugin then be prepared - you lose all your desktop icons. There are ways around this like screenlets folderview, but it is still a bit of a pain.

Thanks minsky this worked like a charm, and as for the icon issue, it doesnt really affect me. i keep my desktop free of shortcuts. i really like that it no longer shows the mounted disks on the desktop.
