View Full Version : [ubuntu] move ubuntu from usb drive to main hdd

hi, i installed ubuntu on a usb removable drive and now after a few months I love it so much i want to run it on my primary local hdd. Is there anyone who can explain to me a easy way to do this ?

Maybe I am missing something. I would recommend the installation section of the site, but I am guessing you are thinking of moving the usb contents to the HDD?

If that is the case, I would follow the installation instructions (burn ISO, checksum, etc.) using the liveCD and then copy your data files over to the HDD.

You may have to reinstall some other software that may be on the USB.

The only other option might be to clone the USB drive onto the HDD in a partition?
