[SOLVED] inactice desktop. no right click no disk icons

for some reason the desktop is dead when switching to the standard desktop
nautilus is not started
the following is not e pretty solution but it doe's the job
goto System ==> Preferences ==> startup applications.
add new one call it "nautilus"
and the command is "nautilus"

if it solved u'r problem please comment here
if it had happened to more people we can open a bug report to get it fixed

Yup, I had the same problem and this solution fixed it. I'm using an Asus EEE 1000 w/ Ubuntu Netbook Remix (9.04).

uname -r gives 2.6.28-13
