Hello fellow members of the form, As expected, I have met with a rather stubborn problem. After installing VMware Tools for Ubuntu Linux I had run into the following error:

As I had been informed, this would be easily solved by installing the appropriate packages:

Despite the installation of these packages and required reboot, the errors still occur. I had looked at previous threads such as:

However, they were for a older version of Ubuntu. Considering kernel and library changes I am not surprised by anything. Luckily, I am using VMware Workstation. Those dependent snapshots are a life saver. Obligatory information: Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope
