View Full Version : [ubuntu] need help in linux troubleshooting

My ubuntu installation failed. The I rebooted using windows vista. Now my camera has gone mad. It starts if i press any key. Even after I disabled the camera an error message comes up whenever I press a key. PLease help. I am in desperate need of it.

Sorry to say, but I don't think there's any causality here...

but isnt it possible that somehow linux may have somehow changed the configuration of the hardware ?

doesnt linux check for hardware while installing ? is it possible that some configuration might have been changed? please help !

Yes, this is possible if Ubuntu would have changed the firmware of your webcam. But I think it is a coincident that your webcam has stopped working in windows after installing Ubuntu.

If in case ubuntu chnaged my cam's firmware is there any way to confirm it and if it is so then reverse it?
