i'm trying to do a clean install of ubuntu 9.04 (running windows XP now)
i've downloaded the iso and burned it to a dvd but when i reboot it still goes straight to windows.

i made sure that my cd/dvd tray was the primary boot but for some reason it still just ignores the disk.

(also i'm not worried about transferring any data from the computer, i want it all gone)

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance,
Ryan

Make sure you have burned the image into a disk and not burned the image onto a disk. Look at your disk in windows, if the contents are a .iso file you need to create a disk from the iso

If you use Nero, 'Burn Disk Image' and make sure you are making a bootable .iso disk. :)

i used Roxio Creator DE and clicked burn image

when i look at the disk it says "Install Ubuntu"
i right-clicked and tried "burn to disc" it told me there were no files to burn
