Hi, I tried to add more space to my ubuntu partition using the 8.10 ubuntu alternate cd, but I had upgraded my ubuntu to 9.04 and when I started the computer again various programs had become disconfigured, for example evolution mail, my account information had gone and my mails too; tomboy shows an error at startup, sticky notes have disappeared and some games' information too...:(...can I do something to recover this lost data?

thanks in advance

Hopefully you have a back up of your /home, that is where most of your config files for programs are located. A rule that should be adhered to is always make back ups on a regular basis as anything can happen at any moment-especially during partitioning operations! I hope you haven't learned this lesson the hard way as so many of us have.
