Well, I've taken a new interest to designing circuits and the such, so I'm looking for a good book, or even an online tutorial (needs to be very in depth though) that goes through the fundamentals to building electronic circuits, such as explaining what Transistors, Capacitors, Resistors, etc, are, and how they work together.

Any good recommendations? I'm completely new to this field. :D

Doing a quick google search, here's the result (http://www.artikel-software.com/blog/ebooks/electrical-engineering/). Does it look interesting?

Hi Exershio,

Any first year electrical engineering text should do the job. When I was still teaching at uni, we used "Electrical Engineering" by Allan Hambley, which we found quite easy to follow, both for students and instructors.

I saw in amazon that the fourth edition is already out, which means the third edition is now cheap:
http://www.amazon.com/Electrical-Engineering-Principles-Applications-3rd/dp/0131470469/ref=sr_1_1/182-0115328-5302437?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244876264&sr=8-1
But reviews in that page indicates that there are readers who did not find it so helpful.

I cannot remember what I used to use before we switched to this book (then first edition). I do remember that books by Dorf or Rizzoni to be somewhat more difficult for complete beginners to use.

Alternatively you can try the MIT open course ware, but I have not looked at it myself, so I cannot give an opinion.

Or, if you just want to understand circuitry for building circuits, perhaps get a Schaum notes, or just a beginner electronics kit which may explain some concepts?

Good luck, and if you have more questions do feel free to ask!
