Hello,

I made a Burroughs style cut up poetry collage and I wanted to share it with one of my favorite open source communities. I have mostly lurked here and used the resources but I feel now I have something to contribute.

Seadragon Version:

Its a flash applet of the image because it is so big I needed a way to zoom and pan around to read the words.

Here is a preview:

Any Questions Critique or Comments?

If you are asking yourself "why the **** would he post that here?" I would encourage you to actually take a little time and read some of the words.

The border at the very least.

I feel people here will understand the theme then.

Pretty deep.

The one thing is, though, your "global democratic revolution" wouldn't involve a single world government, would it? Because I couldn't get behind that.

It's good stuff though. The way it all forms that particular picture, kind of reminds me of that song "we don't get fooled again."

They aren't my words I just cut them out =)

Thanks to everyone who gave a little time to look at it!

I would be interested in finding out more info. I have been trying to display it since I put up the site and even after a front page on digg and a few interviews I have had no luck with galleries or getting the original displayed.

Great peace of art ;), though I do have one crit regarding the flash applet, the shimmering while scrolling/zooming is very annoying, using bilinear filtering would help a lot, is flash actually capable of this?.

I don't know I will let my friend who built it know maybe we can fix that. Thank you!

If you want really high quality there is a free tiff on the site.

I go to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and we have quite a few galleries and, of course, the Art Institute museum. I put it on my bookface (friends with a lot of my professors) and I'll name drop you heavily around school. They love this kind of work and.... it's ******* Lincoln

wow that's fantastic. it seems like something the guys at adbusters would cream themselves to publish, although whether that's something you'd want or not i dont know.

do you have anything else?

I think I tired to send them a link through their contact page but never got a response.

I currently don't have anything else which makes it hard to get it into a gallery. This took so long and I am a full time student so I have only had time for this. I am gathering materials to do another one though. This was my first collage and I have learned a lot so I will apply that to the next ones.
