I tried installing Ubuntu 9.04 in virtualbox to get a feel for it before i install. And no matter how hard i try, no matter what disc i use (normal or text installs) it refuses to install. Some random error plagues me, OR it will install with no errors, And take me to a blank screen and virtualbox will lock up.
Can anyone help me out please..
tried googling the issue, But no luck =/

you can try a few things:
1. check the iso for md5 mismatch.
2. check your hard drive for errors.
3. upgrade virtualbox to the latest version.

checksum passed.
I don't know how to check a virtual hard drive for errors. EDIT: tried installing on a drive that i had installed Windows 7 on, Windows on, Ubuntu still didn't work.
And it's the latest version

I don't know how to check a virtual hard drive for errors.
i meant your actual hard drive, not the virtual partition.
but, since you tried it on another drive and the installation still failed, i can only think of some hardware error or conflict.
how much ram have you got? check your ram for errors using memtest86+.

Actual drive is perfectly fine checked all of them just two nights ago. and i've been trying to install since 9.04 was released
And i have 3GB, with 1GB allocated to the Ubuntu VM.
I also have 128mb of vid ram allocated to it as well (if that matters at all)
