I Have installed new 110 Gb drive on ASUS A3A laptop and partitioned it. Hda1=Xp,Hda2=fat32,Hda3=/home,Hda4=logical Hd5,6,7 /boot,/and swap
Copied across home folder from 7.04 reinstalled ubuntu 8.04 .

But how do I get my applications running that were running on 7.04 .

Have original drive as usb drive that is still bootable to 7.04
Checked all the forums every one says just copy across Home partition .

BUT HOW DO I GET THEM WORKING AGAIN ? PLEASE SOMEONE

This googled search string

ubuntu + backup + apps + restore

gave me this....

http://www.savvyadmin.com/backup-and-restore-package-lists-in-ubuntu/

and a package + restore search here at the forum provided this
