Hi, I installed 9.04 (via wubi) on a different machine for my kids to play with. They liked the game packages but, overall, they didnt like the experience of linux (too used to the XP).
I uninstalled Ubuntu but now, on machine reboot, it still gives the dual boot option for Ubuntu.
Any suggestions for helping this tired old man with this problem?

All help is, of course, gratefully recieved.

Please wait for at least 24 hours before bumping your thread. Answers sometimes come fast and sometimes come slow. Yes it is frustrating when it is the latter, but patience is most often rewarded in the long run with an answer.

Use you XP install CD to enter the recovery console, once at the prompt type: FIXBOOT, then FIXMBR.

That should remove grub from the mbr.
