Just thought I should say hello to everyone. Just installed and tried ubuntu. My first experience with Linux. Seems really good although I know absolutely nothing about Linux. Going with the trial-and-error method.

I think that you will find that the Linux community, with a very few exceptions, are a friendly, helpful, and computer literate bunch. Welcome and I know that if you will give it a fair chance, you will not regret it.

Since you are new, I might make one suggestion. Learn to use Linux for all of you internet activity, PERIOD. My family, 4 daugters, 3 grand kids, and the "ole lady" havent been on the internet in Windows in over 6 years.

Havent had a virus, spyware, etc, etc, so on and so on.........
