Hi,
I installed Jaunty on my macbook. I am using Gnome. In my applications menu, I dont see a search box that searches for installed apps like in KDE. Is there a way I can add it to the menu? An answer with some details would be most appreciated , as I am newbie to Ubuntu

Thanks,
KM

No, but if you prefer that kind of menu over Gnome's default menu there are loads of different menu applets available. For example GnoMenu gives a menu lot like the one used in KDE4 & Windows Vista...

you can also add a search tool like apples spotlight search
i know of 2 just right click on the gnome bar and click add
to panel one is named one is named deskbar and the other one
just says search for files,You may need to install deskbar
from synaptic
