hi,
my perfect install of 8.10 is now ruined by the the attempt to upgrade to 9.04. DPKG is erroring out on so many things and quits after too many errors. I cant even partition the HD using the Live CD to do a clean install. That errors out too. I am to the point of trying to save my /home and starting from scratch. I am never upgrading again. Went thru all kinds of upgrade problems starting with 7.10 to 8.xx to now. Anyway please help with the following:
1) fixing, restarting the upgrade. The dpkg --configure just errors out and quits after too many errors. apt-get clean, update, upgrade etc dont work either.
I cant believe there is no auto way of restarting or backout an upgrade!!!
2) saving my /home. I get to the command line with networking but cant seem to access my server and dont know how to save to a usb.
thanks
