LXer (http://lxer.com/) has a database of outlets providing Linux pre-installed.

Link here (http://lxer.com/module/db/index.php?dbn=14).

I would urge all of us to take the time to add any vendor we may know of to the list and to spread the word that this list exists.

All too often there are posts in the Ubuntu forums from people seeking places to buy hardware with Linux pre-installed, perhaps a link to this database could be stickied?

Unless knowledge of these vendors is shared and spread around, people who only want Linux will continue to purchase Windows licences.
Buying Windows licences isn't the way to let vendors know that you want Linux pre-installed.

Don't forget the vendors like powernotebooks and xotic who will build custom systems for you without installing any OS.

Remember to check the database and add any that aren't on there yet ;)
