gnome-panel error

i just upgraded to 9.0.4 today

i tried to remove the notification area by right clicking and selecting "remove from panel"

evidently that was somewhat of a faux pas, as the gnome-panel outlet is now freaking out and restarting itself every 2 seconds.

it will sit there and do this continually for about 500 iterations and then just stop, but if i close the error window it starts the loop again.

any suggestions on what to do?

this loop is killing me. i want to try this but i cant get the error messages to stop popping up, which means i can't enter my su password.
