):P Hi all

So I'm looking in to building a media PC, I like the looks of Boxee so thought I would install ubuntu on an old HP. intel P4 2.4Ghz, 504MB of Ram

This is just a test plat form until I take the plunge and go all in and build a real media PC.

So this what happens, I boot from the disk and try it before I install it, loads then goes black docent do anything after that, I have to unplug it to reboot.

The system does have a copy of XP on it, so I pop the disk in and install it, gives me the option to boot XP or ubuntu so I boot ubuntu loads, and get the background and a courser but does nothing.

I’d like to run only ubuntu on it and just play with it.

Thanks for any help

Are you sure the disk is good? Trying burning a new ISO and try again.

What version are you trying to install? Try a different version and check on the graphics card compatibilty.

Hope you come right.
