A friend of mine writes songs as a hobby and personally I think he is pretty good at it. He is planning on submitting two songs to an international song writing contest. I would like to hear your opinions on these two songs if you are a country music fan. Thanks.
Here is the first song.
Hey Bartender - By Rick Riley
Hey Bartender, can you lend me your ear
I need someone to talk to while I'm sitting here
And hey Bartender, please be so kind
Set em up and keep them coming
Till I drink her off my mind, cause
I forgot to forget about her
She's on my mind again
No matter how hard I try to fight it
Her memories always win
And as I sit here on this bar stool
Crying in my beer
I'll try to drink her off my mind
That's wishing she was here
Hey Bartender, It's been two long years
And since she walked away
I've cried a million tears
And hey Bartender, I'll never be the same
I still wake up from dreaming of her
Calling out her name
I forgot to forget about her
She's on my mind again
No matter how hard I try to fight it
Her memories always win
And as I sit here on this bar stool
Crying in my beer
I'll try to drink her off my mind
That's wishing she was here
I forgot to forget about her
I'm wishing she was here
Who would have thought that after all this time
I'd still care
Now its me and the Bartender
He's now my best friend
He's helping me get over her
He'll be there till the end
Hey Bartender...
Here is the second song.
More Than - By Rick Riley
Dad was holding my mother's hand
As I walked into the room
He knew the Lord would be calling her home soon
With tears in his eyes, he said I don't believe
That the Lord is taking her from me, cause
She is more than just a loving mother
She is more than just a loving wife
She is more than any man could ever hope for
She is my life
Mother went to Heaven the very next day
Dad stood by her graveside not wanting to walk away
He begged Lord I can't live without her
I miss her so
Take me to Heaven, I'm ready to go, cause
She was more than just a loving mother
She was more than just a loving wife
She was more than any man could ever hope for
She was my life
Dad was holding my mothers picture
As I walked into the room
He knew the Lord would be calling him home soon
He said son it's been twenty years since your mother died
Now I get to go to Heave to be by her side
She was more than anyone who came before her
She was more than anyone since
She was more than anyone I could get over
Now I get to be with her once again
Yes now I get to be with her once again
Here is the first song.
