Depend on my mood.

If I'm getting ready to go out or vent some frustration I listen to hardcore.

My favorite "band" being Masters of Ceremony (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=masters+of+ceremony&aq=0&oq=masters+of+cere).

When I'm in a more happy place ( :p ), I like to listen to switch music.

I don't have a favorite band, but I really like Moloko (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z06gUeqUpeo).

Why would anyone want to restrict themselves to a genre, or group of genres of music? That's like eating the same meal everyday.

I love Within Temptation.

I listen to a lot of different genre's and quite a few of my favorite bands are subgenre or atypical of a Certain genre.

Genres: Symphonic/Gothic metal (without the grunting), Metal, and Rock.

Metallica is my favorite band.

I gotta admit they are one of the most interesting bands to come out in a long time. Inis Mona blew me away when I first heard it.

I could not limit myself to one genre, but based on the total hours spent listening, my favorite bands would have to be either Iron Maiden or Pink Floyd, with (early) Santana and Yes coming close. I need to listen to more symphonic and progressive metal though, there seems to be some good stuff out there.

2: Music I don't like

I don't have one favourite band, but my favourite piece of music is Echoes by Pink Floyd from the album Meddle.

I much prefer Burach's cover of Vincent Black Lightning, Thomson's original is a dull dirge by comparison.

I like everything from Mozart (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=mozart&x=0&y=0) to Ministry (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=ministry&x=0&y=0).

I'm currently on a 80ish Metal kick, lots of Judas Priest (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=Judas+Priest&x=0&y=0) and Iron Maiden (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=Iron+Maiden&x=0&y=0) lately.

Like everyone else I have eclectic tastes and enjoy music from a wide variety of genres.

Been enjoying a lot of classical music recently (and all the sub-genres within that). Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart, Vaughan-Williams, Britten.

Also been listening (and enjoying) a lot of stuff off Jamendo ...again a wide variety of genres, rock, punk, insrumental, jazz, country, easy listening, folk etc. The Dada Weatherman, Tryad, Brad Sucks, Rob Costlow, Revolution Void.

I like a lot of genres. Never particularly liked rap or garage or "rnb" (when I hear rnb I think rhythm n blues :)) but some stuff is quite good. I don't have enough jazz music, so don't hear as much as I'd like of that.
I suppose all time favourite bands/groups would be Goo Goo Dolls, Simon & Garfunkel, HIM, The Feeling, The Beatles :)
But of course, I usually have a new "favourite band" every month :D

I must finally be "getting old"... I've never even HEARD of many of the bands listed so far! :lolflag:

I generally find something to like in any genre, and pretty much don't like ALL of what any group has done. Even my work laptop has a rather interesting mix of music on it to suit my moods. I get a kick out of the looks from others around me (I am often on construction sites) when the music goes from rock to classical, or maybe opera... :p

But, if I had to pick just one band over all others, it would be Boston! Just hearing even a snippet of one of their songs brings a smile... :cool:

No specific genre.
It really depends upon my mood.

Musicians, and bands I like include:
* John Cage;
* Harry Partch;
* Tangerine Dream;
* Kitaro;
* A-mei;
* Krystal Meyers;
* Mccully Workshop (Their stuff from the seventies.);
* The Ferrets;
* The Daltons (I've got to show support for at least one home town band, and they were better than the Dealians.);

Now wondering if I'd like LM Radio now, the way I liked it when it was on the air. (Radio Five was a ghastly ghost in comparison.)
