I have Ubuntu 8.10 installed on my Acer Aspire One with netbook remix. Whenever I get a new kernel update, something will not work properly (usually the wireless or network card). Ubuntu only runs fully on kernel 2.6.27-7. Is there any way to fix this?

While I am posting, I might as well mention that there is also a problem with alsa: It constantly runs at about 20% when idle (a problem for a netbook...trying to save battery) and when trying to play multiple sounds at once it crackles severely and sounds like the computer is falling apart. I think I need to re-compile the sound drivers but I am not sure which drivers to get.

Also, I would like to upgrade to 9.04 netbook remix. Is there any way to do this? The only things I have seen to upgrade are to normal ubuntu 9.04.
