Compiz and GNOME : Desktop Icons have disappeared

Hi there,

Installed Ubuntu 9.04 and enabled the Compiz settings. I have a nice rotating cube.

Problem: All icons on the Desktop have disappeared from view.
(The bottoms and top menu bars are visible.)

I can see the Desktop icons when I rotate the cube, but cannot see these when not rotating. So these are there, but cannot be used.

How can I get these back?

I have isolated the problem and it is with the Desktop Cube effect. However I cannot fathom out how to solve it.
