I'm trying to Install Kubuntu 9.04 on a disk that has Ubuntu 9.04 at the moment. I want to use the entire disk, i.e. completely remove Ubuntu, format and do a fresh install. When I try installing from the live CD I get this error:
"Error about informing the kernel about modifications to partition..."
I can continue going on by ignoring the error until the installer tries creating the ext3 filesystem at which point it tells me it is unable to create it because the resource seems to be busy.
Does anyone know how to get around this? Does the position on my hard disk's jumper make a difference?
