I'm trying to install Xubuntu (Hardy Heron) on my desktop, but it stops every time. I've checked the integrity of multiple discs of multiple downloads, and it always checks out fine.
The computer will boot from the CD, show the first screen, then if I choose run or install the meter fills up like normal. But after a while the screen goes black and the disc stops spinning.
I have Fedora 6 installed on this machine now and it works fine. I did try to install Fedora 10 but the same problem happens (with the liveCD and install DVD.)
The computer is an HP Pavilion with an Intel 2.7 GB and 512 MB of RAM.
