I just came across something called "Livedrive" http://www.livedrive.com/features.aspx.

It offers unlimited backup for 40 GBP a year. They also have some really useful features, one of which is FTP access.

I am an avid user of Dropbox, and I have 5gb of storage. However, I have 70gb of music that I would like to upload *somewhere* online so that I can stream it to my phone (my phone obviously does not have 70gb of space).

Unfortunately I haven't heard of this service before and would not want to pay so much money if its just a scam. So has anyone had any experience with it?

There's a few of these services springing up, Adrive (http://www.adrive.com/) is another, 50gb and free.

Wouldn't dream of using it as a sole backup though, but could be useful for anywhere access.

I have my own courtesy of my NSLU2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSLU2) so won't be using a paid for web service.

I have a VPN. Works great for remote storage and you can do alot more. You can mount the drive, run cron jobs on it etc, even have a vpn intranet.

VPN's are dead easy to set up, but security needs to be good.

I'm just looking for some ftp server somewhere which I can upload 70gb of files to! It doesn't need to be secure as its only music

Have you tried spotify?

http://spotify.com

It's like having a hard disk with a million songs on it :-)

Of course! I've had it for a very long time, but doesn't work on mobile devices (yet!)

Give them time... Porting to mobile devices is one of their plans for this year. The problem is whether or not the phone companies will block it. I used to use ORB until my phone company started blocking that.
