Look here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/

If you are currently running Windows then find CDBurnerXP, a free program, and burn the iso to disk. Then simply boot computer with the new disk. Recommend burn disk at slowest speed and perform disk check prior to installing. You will also first need to check the download to verify it is good. That is accomplished by performing a "md5sum" check on the iso file. Look around, there are available programs for Windows that will allow you to do that.

What do you mean "it zipped it"? Did you down load a md5 checking program then add the iso to that file? That is what I am reading.

The md5check is performed using the/a program or command line. You match the generated numbers to the provided md5sum listed (see link above) for the particular iso you downloaded.

Look at this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7285662#post7285662

You will only need a regular CD-R disk.

Follow "oldos2er's" link above also.
