View Full Version : [ubuntu] Desktop installation problem BIOS

So it goes like this, I installed the Cd in Windows,
All seemed to work well, it finnished and rebooted, i got into the Ubuntu desktop it did the files checking and all what it is supposed to do for final checking, it rebooted again.
After this reboot it started normally and went into the Ubuntu loading screen, right after the loading screen it stopped and wrote lots of defenitions and stuff that I dont know what it wants from me, its the second time I uninstalled and installed the Ubuntu Desktop Cd.

and this is what it writing to me each time start the pc in ubuntu:

This Thread is about 6 Months old and no one has or had an answer for it untill now... im still getting that problem and none is even helping me out... I guess its too hard to know how to fix it even for the Ubuntu Programmers themself, oh well... Thank you anyways... and Thank you VERY MUCH for your help......

Have you tried updating your BIOS?

Hello,

Ann, err Oldos2er, is right. We need acpi. I have one machine that had the same BIOS problem (vintage 1997) and required a BIOS update/upgrade.

I used this guide. Pls. back up/save to an external storage first as the chnance to 'brick' your system is real.

Ubuntu programmers usually don't visit those forums (as far as I know).
