MacRumors.com: Apple Hires Former Security Director of One Laptop Per Child (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=701263)

I found this particularly interesting:

Bitfrost (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Bitfrost) is a security specification that "sandboxes" applications into their own virtual operating systems, preventing viruses or other programs from damaging the operating system or accessing files. Given the focus of OLPC on children, Bitfrost is designed to be almost invisible to the end user.

Apple got themselves a good man, Ivan is very clever and knows how to design security solutions that are transparent to the user. I have been very impressed everytime I have had a chance to hear him speak or read an interview with him.

I am sad to see him leave Open Source development, but I wish him good fortune in his new place of work. Apple certainly has very poor security as things stand and have not done anything about it for years. I hope Ivan will be able to bring some sanity to their approach.
