its a pretty early one with a core duo, original not core 2. with 2 gigs of ram and an intel 9something intergrated.

it recommends Mandriva. Is that distro capable of installing XBMC?

About anything should run pretty decent on that hardware no? It's not PPC so even Ubuntu should do great on it.
Why not just throw OSX back on?(just asking not challenging).

because I hate OSX, and Apple.

I have the original macbook...so same specs I single boot arch...it's quite good

arch, yeah thats keeps screwing up on me when I try and install it. guess Im not good enough at the cl yet :icon_frown:

just pacman -Syu pacman -S nvidia pacman -S xorg pacman -S gnome nano ~/.xinitrc uncomment exec gnome-session pacman -S gnome-terminal pacman -S firefox then you pull up the wiki and finish up some stuff I left out
