Make nautilus stop sorting files

Is there any way to make nautilus stop sorting files by default? It takes an age when I browse into directories with thousands of files (i.e. my wallpaper and/or music collections) in them, and file icons keep "jumping" around until it finishes. :|

It turned out I can't find myself around it's source code. :(
