I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu with Wubi..
It said it should only take a few minutes but it's been 5 and it's still saying this:

Help please?
Wubi came with the Ubuntu download file that I was suppose to put on a disc but my friend said to use Wubi to keep my Windows XP

It almost looks like you've got a slow internet connection. Do you already have a copy of the ISO file on your system? If so, you can put it in the same directory as wubi.exe, and wubi should be able to recognize it.

No, I just downloaded the CD copy and like I said Wubi came with it so I did that instead.
And it was dling at 600kb/s so it only took 25 minutes.
Also it is already in that directory.

Did you by any chance try to "extract" the files? Normally the iso file is written "direct" as a "disk image".

What do you mean?
I extracted the .rar and ran Wubi

You don't normally need to extract the files - The downloaded file should be written to CD as a "disk image". Have a look here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

So then I should burn it into a CD THEN run Wubi?

EDIT: Woot! Thanks, I burned it to my cd and now it's working.
Waiting for it to finish installing, can't wait.

Sounds like a good idea. When you've burnt it to CD and insert the CD while Windows is running, you'll be given a menu that allows you to use Wubi.
An alternative is to put a copy of wubi.exe in the same folder as the massive Ubuntu file you've already downloaded, and run wubi from there.

Thanks again, exactly what I did.
Great help.
