View Full Version : [ubuntu] Nautilus find-as-you-type not working after upgrade to 9.04

May 17th, 2009, 03:31 AM
I was running 8.04, did an upgrade to 9.04. I used the find as you type feature in Nautilus all the time, now when I start typing in the file manager nothing happens. Makes browsing my music folder and other directories with many subdirectories and folders much more of a pain in the butt.

Any idea why the feature turned off? Is a package missing? Preference that I can't find that's "off" somewhere?

Thanks in advance

I have encountered the same problem. After switching to 'gcin' (which replaces SCIM), the problem has gone.

google: scim "find as you type"

google: nautilus quick find scim

This also fixes the problem with keyboard not working in some fields like in grooveshark.com
hopefully scim will be fixed . I can't seem to get GCIM to work :(
