Can't open minimized applications

I can't open the applications I've minimized anymore because I deleted the bottom panel by accident. I tried making a new panel but I don't know the name of the function that allows you to see which applications are still running. How do I restore this panel function?

Right click on the panel and select "add to panel".
Then add the "Window List" applet (its near the bottom of the list).
Slide it to the left of the panel and you're set.
