mouse sticking at the bottom of the screen

Hi all. As the topic says, my mouse pointer sticks when I place it at the very bottom of the screen. I have to shake the the mouse in circles for about 5 - 10 seconds to enable it to unstick otherwise it will just stay there. It does not happen anywhere else on the screen.
I have recently upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty and am unsure if this is what the cause of the problem is or not.
