View Full Version : [ubuntu] Sound no longer works in Jaunty Jaguar

A few days ago I upgraded to Jaunty Jackalope. Immediately I had problems with my headphones. I've always had to start up Ubuntu making sure that they were plugged in to get them to work with this OS, but now they don't work at all. And as of today, the sound is entirely broken and many of my sound options have simply disappeared.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

EDIT: Seems I got the name wrong. This is Jaunty Jackalope, 9.04.

Is there any other information I can give to help figure it out? This is a pretty annoying problem and I don't know how to downgrade back to 8.10.

run gnome-volume-control and under one of the tabs is an option to allow digital output, if that is checked, uncheck it.

I don't seem to have anything like that. The controls I do have are also entirely different than what I had before I upgraded.

These are what I have now:

Hey dude I really know anything about jaunty but I do know you can't downgrade to 8.10. I hope you fixed your problem, if anyone knows the solution please post it.

You can also try searching the wiki for jaunty sound problems.
