I'm using an Asus eee pc (no external CD/DVD drive). I tried installing Jaunty Netbook Remix to dual boot with the Windows installation that came with the netbook, but accidentally destroyed the Windows installation. I have a recovery CD as well a full desktop Windows computer with a CD/DVD R/W drive. I have found online utilities that allow you to put a normal Windows installation disk onto a USB drive, but the problem is that the disk that came with the netbook contains a couple of ghost files that are restored to the hard drive when you boot from the disk.

Does anyone know of a way to create a USB drive that boots the contents of this kind of disk? Or am I just going to need to buy an external CD/DVD drive?

Thanks in advance!

You might have better luck posting this question on a Windows forum. Or contact the manufacturer for support, if they are the ones who provided you with the recovery CD.
