I created a Live USB, then disconnected my main hard-disk (with Vista on it, just in case something goes wrong) and then connected my external GB HDD and installed Ubuntu 9.04 on the HDD using the option "install side by side" during the install. After restarting, I get the GRUB Stage 1.5 Error 17.
Now i tried deleting and reformatting all the partitions created during install and started afresh, this time choosing 'manual install', but getting the same error!
Can someone help me with what I'm doing wrong here?
