Live CD works; once installed, it does not :((

The title pretty much sums up my problem. 9.04 worked on live cd but after I installed it, it showed the ubuntu logo with the loading bar for a minute and then the screen went blank.

I'm assuming my graphics card is compatible (since live cd worked) but once I install it something happens that change the video driver...

I don't understand. Did you say that it worked before you installed the Graphics Driver? Because sometimes, if you have a rare card, it does not work properly.

I never installed the driver, it just worked 'out of the box' BUT only with the live CD. Once I actually went ahead and installed ubuntu on the hard drive, I had the problem I mentioned above.

btw my graphics card is an ATI (possibly an all in one wonder)
