Im trying to get the Irish translations team back up and running. I have ubuntu running in Irish now and its very well done already but there is still lots to do!! Any help big or small is much appreciated.
If you want to help:
1. Join the team https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ie
2. Start translating your favourite programs https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+lang/ga
If you have any questions just go on to #ubuntu-ie my nick is Shane_Fagan

I'll blog about this later on irishgaelictranslator.com. It may also be worth your while posting your announcement on the forum there.

My God - there are still 236,000 strings left to do! I wonder could we organise an event in some Gaeltacht areas and give a presentation and maybe some free CDs - and buddy up with locals to translate 100 strings each or something.
We would need Irish speakers of course, which I'm not, but I'd be happy to try to organise a setup where we can facilitate quick translation entry during the event.

I speak a bit of cúpla focail.
I would be glad to help out...
Maybe we should start with the most popular programs and work our way down.
